Apparently the Blogger spellcheck application does not automatically recognize the words "blog" or "blogs"
Having just run the spellcheck, it also does not recognize the word "Blogger".
Also, the Blogger spellcheck application is fussy and a little counter-intuituve.
Somebody should get on all of these issues right away.
